The best way to obtain volunteer opportunities is to just ask! When I was working on my undergraduate program, I went to the museum on campus one day and simply asked “Do you have any volunteer positions open for students?” The museum never had a few student volunteers who were seniors working on their History degrees but never anyone younger. By just asking, they gave me a position and I volunteered there for 5 years eventually becoming an intern and being given responsibilities such as teaching classes which was such a valuable experience!
