Hi everyone! My name is Jasmin Bretaña, but please feel free to call me Jas. I hold degrees in English and Graphic Design, and I’m currently pursuing my MLIS with a concentration in digital curation. Professionally, I work as a senior marketing analyst for a large home improvement retailer, where much of my work focuses on data-driven content strategy and search engine optimization.
Looking ahead, I’m interested in transitioning into roles related to information architecture and digital curation, where I can combine my background in design, content, and data management to support information access and preservation.
A fun fact about me is that I’m a hobbyist photographer. I love taking nature shots, and exploring new places. Photography has always been a great creative outlet alongside my academic and professional work.
When it comes to online learning, I really appreciate the flexibility; it makes balancing work, school, and personal life much more manageable. That said, one of the challenges I’ve found is missing the spontaneous discussions and networking that happen more naturally in in-person classes. I’ve found that engaging with my peers through discussions helps fill some of that gap!
